Albie really loves football. Football training, watching, or just playing around with his friends.
When he comes to our holiday clubs, you'll find him tearing up the pitch for most of the day. Whenever he can squeeze a bit of shooting practice in, he will. And on Saturday mornings, he loves playing for his local team.
So when we launched The Academy last year, Albie's mum saw another opportunity for him to play and signed him up straight away.
Each week, Albie worked with George and James, our football coaches, on lots of different areas of his game. If he had a specific skill he wanted to work on, they'd focus on it. He learnt more about teamwork and sportsmanship on top of his defending and attacking plays. Each week we saw him grow in confidence.
His mum agreed. Soon she was watching a different player on the pitch each Saturday morning. The way he played had improved, his football skills had grown and his confidence was sky-high. Go Albie!
This is why we launched The Academy - for the football lovers. We all love a kick around down the park with our friends, but sometimes we need a little bit of coaching to know how we can get better. And because it's us, that never means long drills and repetitive exercises - that's far too boring for us! Nope, only the type of training that’ll have them excited to come back and keep learning every week.
